Adventure DANUBE (6): The IRON GATE, one of the most impressive sections of the cruise. The cataract route (approx. 100km) along the southern CARPATHIANS / ROMANIA is characterized by steep cliffs up to 100m high. At the narrowest point the river narrows to only 150m (normal width here 1.5 to 2km). The dammed Danube still releases many a remnant of sunken towns. A double lock at the end of the panoramic journey overcomes 26m. 🤠🐺⛴
