Conformity
“I Did What Everyone Else Did—Until I Didn’t”
All my friends went into finance after college, so I did too. We wore the same suits, talked about bonuses, and spent weekends escaping the jobs we were working so hard to keep.
At 41, after a stress-related panic attack, I walked away. I opened a tiny bike repair shop in a town no one had heard of. Everyone thought I’d lost my mind. But I’d finally found it. Now I fix gears, talk to customers, and feel a kind of peace that money never gave me.
Advice: Conformity is comfortable. But authenticity is electric.
