Learning to Dance with CHANGE

“You ever feel like life keeps switching the game on you?”

I looked across the table at my friend, her coffee cup turning slowly in her hands.

“Oh, constantly,” I laughed. “Right when I think I’ve figured something out, life’s like — nope, new level, new rules.”

She smiled, but it was that tired kind of smile — the kind you give when you’re really feeling it.

“That’s what’s been hitting me lately,” she said. “I used to think if I worked hard enough, I could lock things in, you know? Find some rhythm where I’d feel steady. But it never stays.”

I nodded. “It’s wild, isn’t it? We chase stability like it’s a destination, but the world just…moves.”

“Exactly,” she said, eyes widening. “So now I’m wondering — is it me? Am I bad at this, or is it just the way life is?”

I leaned in. “It’s not you. It’s all of us. The trick isn’t locking things down — it’s learning how to move with it. Like dancing, not building.”

She sipped her coffee, thinking. “So, adaptability?”

“Yeah. And not in a survival way — in a ‘what if I trusted myself to handle change’ way. The world isn’t slowing down. But we can learn to bend with it.”

She took a deep breath and set her cup down. “Okay,” she said. “Let’s dance.”
