The Rare Breed

People Who Don’t Retire From Life

Some people don’t stop living just because a job ends, the kids are grown, or the calendar says it’s time to slow down.

They don’t make a big announcement about it.
They just keep going—inside.

I call them The Rare Breed.

These are people who stay curious about life. They notice things. They ask questions. They don’t need to be busy all the time, but they do need to feel connected to something that matters to them.

For many people, retirement or big life changes can feel confusing. Suddenly the structure is gone. No schedule. No clear role. No one telling you where to be or what’s expected. That quiet can feel uncomfortable—or it can feel like relief.

The Rare Breed uses that space differently. Instead of filling it with noise or distraction, they listen. They think. They explore new interests, old ideas, or parts of themselves they never had time for before.

This isn’t about starting a new career or proving anything to anyone. It’s about staying awake to life. About choosing not to shut down just because one chapter is over.

The Rare Breed understands something simple but important:
Life doesn’t end when one role ends.
It just asks you to show up in a new way.

And some people are willing to do exactly that. Join us on YouTube: @LifeTalk with Mariette + @The Business Champion television shows.
