At 70, I went to Portugal alone. No tour group, no plan. Just a backpack and a journal. I got lost in alleys, learned two phrases of Portuguese, and cried in front of a cathedral for no reason at all.
It wasn’t glamorous, but it made me feel alive again. I realized the world doesn’t stop unfolding just because we’re older—it waits patiently for us to return to it.
